Let’s talk Holiday card!

We are all thinking it. And if you aren’t thinking it, most likely you are one of those planners that has already checked it off your list, and are on to other holiday tasks. The Holiday card. Yes, it tends to stress me out every year. Mostly because it says something about me, my family,  in some cases it is my last shred of communication between me and friends of years past. I want it to be creative, fun, cute, and yes for the record, that is a lot of pressure on myself.

So here is my Tuesday tip: decide on a concept, and not a picture.

Find a tradition, or a theme, and use that to portray your creativity, and don’t worry about finding that perfect photo. I keep a file of old cards that I like, and last years idea came from one in that file. A coworker of my husband had a great card five years ago, and that seemed like enough time for them to forget they sent us one if they saw mine. So I used images throughout the year and came up with my version. Here it is for those of you not on my ridiculously long list.

frontwebinside-spreaduswebIn case you were wondering, I did not go out in the rain for this last picture. I thank my neighbor Tad for his talent with the garden hose, and for not getting one single drop on my camera. Thanks tad. Oh, and thank you to the neighbor kids making cj laugh. That made the card for sure.
